Learn the Periodic Table Fast – Easy Tricks, Mnemonics & Charts for Students

Yashwant Parihar, September 14, 2025January 31, 2026

In this post, we will learn all the elements of the periodic table with the help of tricks and some learning methods. In Inorganic chemistry, Periodic tables place an important role to solve the question related to electronic configuration, ionisation enthalpy, atomic size, ionic radii and many other topics related to this. The best method to learn the elements’ names is mnemonics. We will learn them step by step, and we will learn the s-block. p-block and remaining blocks.

In the modern periodic table, there are 18 groups and 7 periods. To learn all the elements in the table, you need a blank piece of paper and have to draw the periodic table as shown in the image below:-

Empty Table of Modern Periodic Table

Mnemonics for S-block Elements in the Periodic Table

Before learning the S Block elements, you will need to analyse which are the S Block elements and what they are also known as in the table. The First two groups from left hand side are known as s block elements. The First group of s block is known as the alkali metals, and the second group is known as Alkaline Earth metals. In the image, you will see all the elements of the s block with their respective place in the periodic table:-

S-Block Elements

To learn the First and Second Group Elements, we have to learn the Mnemonics shown below:

Group 1 (Alkali Metals)
H LiNa Ki Rb Cse Fariyad

Group 2 (Alkaline Metals)
Beta Mange Car Scooter Bap Razi

Take the blank sheet of the periodic table as shown at the start of the post, and practice the periodic table until you learn all the elements. After the S block elements, we will learn the P Block Elements with the help of Mnemonics.

Mnemonics for P-block Elements

In the Modern Periodic Table, the p-block elements start from group 13 to group 18. Group 18 is the last in the periodic table, and the last element of the table is Og (Oganesson).

Mnemonics for D-block Elements

The d-block elements, also known as the transition series starting from the 3rd group to the 12th group of the periodic table. We will learn the d-block elements from left to right in the periodic table. This block has a 3d to 6d series.

Elements from 101 to 118 in the Periodic Table

If you are a student who is preparing for jee mains than the elements from 101 to 118 are important because in PYQs, JEE questions are based on them.
