The Story we are not afraid to die if we are all together is a story about courage and braveness of the author and her family and crew member. In July 1976 the author with his wife, children and his crew-mates started the journey from Plywood. Wavewalker was the ship to begin their journey from seas. They knew that they have to tackle the roughest whether on their journey. So they decided to hire two crew-mates to help them.
The first day of the journey beginning with 1,05,000 kilometers upto cape town passed enjoyable. On 2nd day, they started facing windstorm. The author didn’t worry about the windstorm but the high waves of sea up to fifteen meters disturbed the journey. At 2nd January the waves converted into huge size. The whether and waves forced the skipper to slow the speed of the sheep and took other necessary precautions.
Suddenly at 6 pm a explosion shook the wavewalker and the author was thrown overboard. The author was thrown back to the deck and he was seriously injured. Somehow he found the wheel Lined up for the next wave. Lary and Herb starting pumping out water. A new problem has occurred, there hand has stop working and electric pumped is damaged with a short circuit. Luckily, the narrator found an another electric pump under the chart-room that worked. The whole night was spent on pumping, repairing and sending radio signals.
Ile Amsterdom, is nearest island to them so it was the last hope for the narrator. Sue and Jon were injured, but they said we are not afraid to die until we are be together. Finally, they reach Ile Amsterdom and welcomed by 28 inhabitants.

Understanding the text:-
1) List the steps taken by the captain-
(i) to protect the ship when rough whether begin.
(ii) to check the flooding of the water in the ship.
Answer- (i) The Captain slows down the speed of wavewalker to protect him from rough and windy whether. They lashed everything as much as possible. Raft drill, jackets, oilskins, and attached lifelines are carried by them.
(ii) The Captain covered the gaping holes from a thick canvas. The water is diverted from the sides. Then he checked the electric pump but unfortunately the electric pump was short circuit. He found a new electric pump. He replaced the new one with the old one.
2) Describe the mental condition of the voyagers on 4 and 5 January?
Answer- Past 36 hours the voyagers are continuously pumping out the water from the ship, on 4 and 5 January they felt relief. They took the first meal in 36 hours. Marry found some biscuits, Crackers, and beef. Around 4 pm, the whether changed black and a black cloud came towards them. There condition got worse and by the early morning January 5 there situation was bad. This gave them mental stress.
3) Describe the shifts in the narration of the events as indicated in the three sections of the texts. Give a subtitle to each of them.
Answer- (i) First Section- Beginning of the Journey
The first section was enjoyable and the family begin their planned just like the captain James Cook who was done the journey 200 years back. They Build a beautiful ship ‘wavewalker’. The ship was 23 meter long and fully made of wooden planks. Also, they celebrated Christmas on the ship with joyful and happiness on their face.
(ii) Second Section- Struggle with the whether
The Second section was bad. A giant wave created chaos and was about to overturn but luckily a second wave came and balanced the ship again. The narrator knew that the whether was turning back. The two hired crewman are pumping the water out from the ship. He also tries to repair the system but he loss the hope to live. His two children fearlessly encourage him to fight back.
(iii) The Third Section: Victory
His children support the narrator to save the ship to reach the nearest island. As soon as possible he reached his nearest island. Also, the people welcome them after a difficult Journey.

Question-1 What difference did you notice between the reaction of adults and the children faced with danger?
Answer- The difference between the adults and children reaction is huge. The adults lose their hope from the children but the children encourage them to fight against the water. With the support of the children the adults fight back against the bad whether. The Children showed that we are not afraid to die if we come together.
Question-2 What lessons should we learn from the hazardous experience when we are face to face with death?
Answer- We learn that life is not easy everytime. Life gives us one chance to be successful but it totally on yourself how to took that chance. We learn from these chapter is to don’t loose hope to easily. Every second we have chance to fight against anything. No Matter how was the situation was we can do everything. Nothing is impossible in the universe.
